Check your bills for accuracy

Everyone that I have talked to that has closely looked at their bills has found errors. If you care about what you pay then you should look closely.

Exactly how do you check your water and electric bill for accuracy? Do you get someone to open the utility closets and read the meters for yourself?

Pls explain how to do this.

Willie came up with this idea. Probably everything is alright now but the way to check is that there is usually a utility closet right outside your front door. If you open that there is a water meter there. It should be in liters black numbers and tenths of liters ( the red numbers ). Get one of those water bottles that is 1.5 litters or bigger. Write down the water meter setting and then fill the water bottle. It should show a change that matches your bottle. I don't know of anyone with a bad meter, it was that City Gardens was multiplying the reading by 2 when calculating the bill.
